When you first visit Trick Drums, an innovative drum
manufacturing company located in Schaumburg, Illinois, you
will notice a huge American flag hanging over the
assembly area of the warehouse. Mike Dorfman, owner, inventor, president and
CEO of Trick Drums, explains that most of the people working for Trick Drums
are
either Army or Marine Veterans.

Mike's late father, Allen, was a highly decorated (Navy Cross, Purple
Heart) WWII Marine. He served with Carlson’s Raiders
on Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and other Pacific battle fronts.
Dorfman enlisted the talents of his employees and a graphic
artist to create a photo history of the United States
Military on the six drums.
The Marine tribute drum features a
photo of Ryan J. Cantafio, USMC, the cousin of Joe Cantafio
from the 101st Rock Division. Ryan was
killed in action in Iraq in November of 2004. The Navy drum
features a photo of Mike’s father.
The cost of the drum kit is estimated at over $30,000.00. This
is a one-of-a-kind drum kit that will tour the world and
honors American Armed Forces who are serving to protect our
freedoms.
